OMG those are AWESOME!!! I'm for sure going to buy the mag, and I'll admit I don't usually do crochet (just haven't had that much experience). YAAAAY MARLY!

Marly, I love them, and I know my daughter will insist that I make them!!! Ok, I haven't crocheted in quite some time but I think I may have to dust off my crochet hooks....

I love them, sweetie, they are really pretty! I will certainly make them, though I don't crochet as often as I used to. Basically, I am a knitter who also crochets.

I will be getting a subscription for Interweave crochet just because of you.

These are delicately gorgeous! I love the way that you put delicate lace into crochet with these and your prayer shawl. You really show how beautiful crochet can be. You are like the chief ambassador between knit and crochet, Rock On Chickadee!

When I saw the picture in the Interweave Crochet magazine, I knew I HAD to make these. I'm very pleased with how they turned out. http://www.disaffect.com/cinflames/gauntlets_fingerless_lacy_long_gloves.jpg

I've taken this out about 15 times and hopefully someone can enlighten me to what I'm doing wrong. I saw the corrections on interweavechrocet.com In row 10 @ the end after the last V-st. it say mesh stitch 3 times but in the previous row one decrease and there are not 3 mesh stitch to do 3 mesh stitch in, is this a miss print. Please help me I want to finish these for my daughter they were suppost to be a Christmas Present and it is now 1/10/09.

Okay, here is how Row 10 should read...

Row 10: Ch 4, sk first ch-1 sp, *dc in
next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 2 times, ch 1,
(v‑st, add bead, v-st) in next ch-1 sp,
[mesh st] 3 times*, add bead, sk next
3 ch-1 sps; rep from * to *, ch 1, sk next
3 ch-1 sps, dc in next ch-1 sp, (mesh st)
2 times, ch 1, (v-st, ch 1, v-st) in next
ch-1 sp, (mesh st) 3 times, ch 1, dc in 3rd
ch of tch, turn.

I am looking at my worsted weight example I have and I see that if you follow this row 10 exactly it has you end up at the ch4 from the previous row...makes sense? Make sure that at the start of row 9 you have the ch 4 and two dc-ch1's...that should be good.

let me know if you need any more help.

I am adding on the errata just incase anybody else needs it.

Fall 2008
Fino Mitones (page 80)
Minor errata
Row 13: after first dc, ch 1, sk 3 ch-1 sps.
Row 14: at end of row [mesh st] 3 times, ch 1, dc
in 3rd ch of tch, turn

To create the Fino Mitones exactly as those created by Marlaina.
Row 1: Skip 8 sts for finger hole, not 6; then after (repeat from *) ch 1, dc in last ch, turn.

Row 11: ch 4, sk 2 ch-1 sps, dc in next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 2 times, ch 1, (v-st, ch 1, v-st) in next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 3 times, ch 1, *sk next 3 ch-1 sps, dc in next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 2 times, ch 1, (v-st, add bead, v‑st) in next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 3 times*, add bead*; rep from * to *, dc in 3rd ch of tch, turn.

Row 12: Ch 4, sk 2 ch-1 sps, *dc in next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 2 times, ch 1, (v‑st, add bead, v-st) in next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 3 times*, add bead, sk next 3 ch-1 sps; rep from * to *, ch 1, sk next 3 ch-1 sps, dc in next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 2 times, ch 1, (v-st, ch 1, v-st) in next ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 3 times, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of tch, turn.

Row 13: after first dc, ch 1, sk 3 ch-1 sps.
Row 14: at end of row [mesh st] 3 times, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of tch, turn

Hello Marly hope your enjoy sunny and warm Cal. I'm living in Northern NH and we are getting snow. Anyway... I'm still having trouble with this row 9 & 10... At the begging of Row 10 Ch 4 sk first ch-1 sp, [mesh st] 2 times, ch 1,... but at the end of Row 10 there are not enough [mesh st] to mesh st 3 times, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of tch, turn. when I follow the pattern there are not enough mesh st's because of the beginning of row 9 sl st's to do 3 mesh st then 1dc in 3rd ch from hook. I have pictures if I can figure out how to attach them.
Thank you so much!

Hi, I am a crocheter from England, and my daughter fell in in love with the Fino Mitones.

I hope you can help, I have just sat up to 1:30 in the morning try to seam the first one and getting no where fast.

I think I must be missing something. I presume the seam is supposed to mirror the bead section and the down part of the point. (the one where you increase the size). Is this correct. If I follow the pattern, my bead join ends up slanted, so when you look at it it looks like the zig zag on a sewing machine. Help where am I going wrong.? Could you explain in terms that the "crochet challenged" can understand.

Waiting in anticipation and a 12 year old who is going "gothic" peering over my shoulder stating "are they done yet".

Hello girly! The seem does tend to look a little zig zag but you can try to prevent this by slip stitching to each side more than the amount stated. If you do that you might like that look a little better.

Actually, mine that you see in the magazine looked zig zagged too but once they were on it was all okay.

You can contact me as many times as you need to get help if you need it okay? :-)

Hope your little girl LOVES them!!! You will have to show me pictures okay?

Thanks, I will give it another go.

When finished I will get her to model them.
